This Information Applies To: Agilent OpenLab CDS 2.x controlling Agilent LC Systems
Issue
This article outlines an instruction on how to submit a shutdown method on OpenLab CDS 2.3 or above.
Background
Submit a shutdown run to the run queue that will shut down Agilent LC instrument after all other runs in the run queue are complete.
Steps to Follow
Figure 1: Create a shutdown amx file
Note: The following recommendations are just a general guideline. Method conditions may be different according to the application, installed column, and instrument configuration.
Table 1: Instrument Parameters for LC shutdown
Pump |
Flow: 0 mL/min, or a low flow compatible with your application Stoptime: 1 min |
Column Oven |
Temperature left: Ambient Temperature right: combined Stoptime: As Pump/ Injector |
DAD/ MWD/ VWD |
In the Advanced section, go to the Lamps on required for acquisition, and clear the UV lamp check box Stoptime: As Pump/ Injector |
FLD |
Signal: clear the Acquire Signal check box In the Special setpoints section, go to Lamp and clear Lamp on required for analysis check box Stoptime: As Pump/ Injector |
RID |
Optical Unit Temperature: Not controlled, or the same temperature as the analytical method to allow rapid system equilibration for next run Signal: Clear the Acquire Signal check box Stoptime: As Pump/ Injector |
ELSD |
Stoptime: As Pump/ Injector Switch off: deselect Switch off at the end of the run; deselect Switch off on program exit For G4260B, G4261B, G7102A: Output Signal: deselect Acquire Signal |
Tips: If buffer is used in the mobile phase, flush the system with a solvent containing water instead of buffer, according with your method and column compatibility.
