This Information Applies To: Agilent GC/MSD systems controlled by OpenLab CDS software
Issue
Before running a sample, either as a single sample or as part of a sequence, the specified method is downloaded to the GC/MS. There is a delay before the sample is injected while the instrument adjusts pressure and temperatures to meet the method setpoints.
During this delay, a "Waiting for Ready" message is displayed, and the instrument is in an Acquiring, Not Ready state. If necessary, this can be overridden following the steps in this article.
Requirements
Caution: Selecting Override Waiting for Ready may have significant effects on the quality of the sample data, or lead to compounds remaining in the flow path of the instrument, potentially causing carryover problems.
|
Choosing to override "Waiting for Ready" means that the sample is injected before the instrument has reached the temperature or pressure setpoints that are specified in the method.
Only override "Waiting for Ready" if the user is sure that starting the injection early will not have a significant effect on analytical results or the instrument itself, or if the data will be discarded.
Steps to Follow
To override the "Waiting for Ready" message, the GC/MSD must be in the Acquiring, Not Ready state.
Tips: This option will be greyed out if the temperatures have reached their setpoints or are at equilibrium.
