Summary:
In MSD Productivity ChemStation E.02.02 SP2 and MSD ChemStation Data Analysis F.01.01, if you use 'TIC' (total ion chromatogram) as the Quant signal instead of Target Ion or if you import AMDIS (automatic mass spectral deconvolution and identification software) results, you will get the wrong quant results shown in window [7] TIC along with error 'Expected a closing parenthesis' in QEdit mode.
The attached point patch (qedit.mac) is available as a temporary fix. This point patch is compatible with E.02.02 SP2 and F.01.01.
Situation:
For compounds that you have selected to use 'TIC' as the Quant signal instead of Target ion in Edit Compounds window or that you have imported AMDIS results (e.g. DRS > Import Results) in QEdit mode, window [7] TIC will show the wrong quant results along with error 'Expected a closing parenthesis' in the message line in QEdit mode. The issue occurs in MSD Productivity ChemStation E.02.02 SP2 and MSD ChemStation Data Analysis F.01.01.
Solution/Action:
A point patch (qedit.mac) is available as a temporary fix for this issue.
To install the point patch to MSD Productivity ChemStation E.02.02 SP2:
1. In C:\msdchem\msmacros directory, rename the qedit.mac to qedit-orig.mac
2. Copy and paste the updated qedit.mac to C:\msdchem\msmacros
To install the point patch to MSD ChemStation Data Analysis F.01.01:
1. In C:\GCMS\msmacros directory, rename the qedit.mac to qedit-orig.mac
2. Copy and paste the updated qedit.mac to C:\GCMS\msmacros
