User presented an issue with their E.02.02 GC/MS ChemStation showing two files after a sequence was run. They had their sequence data file (normal) and then a blank file that had the data file name ending in .X
Cause:
This is due to the data file not writing completely. This could be due to various possibilities. Could be a corrupt method, corrupt ChemStation, having the software on the wrong operating system or not being logged in as the right user.
Solution:
If sudden onset of problem and only with one method then most likely corrupt method and using the default.m method to recreate would be first option.
