Hi,
there is no a downloadable program at the moment. But you could take a look at the Application Note Let Your Autosampler Do Your Pipetting (agilent.com). It describes the sampler programming approach to create the dilution series for calibration purposes.
Hi thanks for your response, but there s no sequence example in this application note and description of the different functions in autosampler manual are very simple.
Is there any other manual?
regards.
L Stephan
Hi Lstephan, could you please copy here the numbers of the errors? Unfortunately, I could not recognize the error description on the screenshot.
Hi Nadjan, thanks for your response
A copy of the error :
Otherwise i m very suprised id received this response from Agilent
But the application note about dilution ( Let Your Autosampler Do Your Pipetting) is done with the same ALS than me ( loop 100µl and pump head 100µL) !
Thanks a lot
Hi Lstephan,
I am sorry to say, but the answer about the air bubble "sandwich" is incorrect. The air plug exists, but it does not affect the aspirated or injected volumes.
You mentioned earlier that you have a 100 µL loop. Could you please check if it is correctly configured? Right-click on the Sampler tile to get the menu and select Modify -> Flow Path
Are the sizes of the head and the loop configured as 100?
At the moment, this is the only thing that comes to my mind that could cause an error when you are trying to operate with 100 µL on the vialsampler.
And the injector program is correct, you checked, right? You are not trying to take/eject more than 100 µL?
Hi Nadjan
Many thanks for your responses.
Yes i verified that analytical head and sample loop are 100µ volumes.
I send you a copy of different screen captures perharps will you see an error on my program?
erreurs.rtf
Thanks again
Hi,
did you try to set line number 5 in the injector program to the "Eject maximum volume"? On the screenshots, it was "Eject default volume". Does this help?
The last option would be to configure draw volumes 79 and 19 µL, as a trial. This would be something very new to me
Hi,
Thanks i m not at the lab this week but i will try to change line 5.
I tried to modify both volumes in order to have a maximum added volumes less than 100µL ( like 10 from stock solution and 60 diluent volvent) but i had the same error.
I will tell you as soon as i ll test that.
Have a nice day.

Hi Nadjan,
I continue my tests ;-)
So for the moment the injector program seems to work now. I weighed my vials several times and i ve got my 100µl as well in vial after dilution by five 80 + 20 µL. I saw the bubbles from the loop to shake my solutions.
In fact, the problem perharps comes from my sequence in wich i m injecting a blank from a vial in position P1-B1 as you can see here
my injector program working :
Do you have an idea if there s a problem with my sequence test?
Thanks a lot.
L Stephan
Hi Andy,
Yes i m still getting an error this one:
I think that the error is coming from the sequence.
The autosampler is taking the vial P1-B1, and after the needle is coming into vial the error appears.

Hi Lstephan
Looking further down the list of errors I can see a "allowed volume exceeded". I wonder what other errors are below this. This is one where it would be good to be able to watch the sampler to see which of the steps in your injector program the error happens. I think the problem is in the injector program, not the sequence. You could change the vial in the sequence to match the first vial in the injector program to see if that makes a difference.
The other thing that I would check is that, when you edit the whole method from "Instrument...Set up Instrument Method" to make sure that the injector program is actually enabled:

Hi Andy thanks a lot for your response.
Something is very strange,i made the injector program as you can see below
I made this to prepare 2 levels of dilution.
The first dilution is ok but the injector took the vial P1-B1 specified in the sequence line instead making the second dilution as specified in the injector program.
the sequence
Any idea?
Not very simple to use the dilution function :-)
