This Information Applies To: Agilent 5973/5975/5977 GC/MSD with rotary vane foreline pump
Issue:
The oil mist filter is recommended to be replaced annually. If the color of the filter has changed or there is smell from the filter, the oil mist filter also needs to be replaced.

Steps to Follow
Warning: The foreline pump can cause burns if touched when operating.

Warning: Do not breathe the pump exhaust; it may contain traces of pump oil vapor, solvents, and analytes. Do not replace the trap while samples are being analyzed.

Unscrew the filter from the top of pump. Discard the old O-ring.
Warning: The oil mist filter may contain traces of oil, solvents, and analytes. Treat it as hazardous. Dispose of the oil trap in accordance with local environmental and safety regulations.
