  • How to Determine the DV200 of FFPE RNA Samples on the Agilent TapeStation

This Information Applies To: 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation, TapeStation analysis software A02.02 or higher. Issue: When using the Agilent 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation systems, the DV 200 of FFPE RNA samples can be calculated within the TapeStation analysis software. The DV 200 score is a quality score for evaluating quality of RNA derived from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples established by Illumina Inc. in 2016. It represents the percentage of RNA fragments larger than...

This Information Applies To: 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation Systems Issue The expiration date displayed in the Agilent TapeStation controller software is different to the one printed on the ScreenTape device. Resolution The expiration date printed on the ScreenTape device applies until the device is removed from its packaging. Once a ScreenTape device is removed from its protective plastic sleeve, it dries out quicker. As the ScreenTape device dries out, bubbles can form in the gel,...

How to Export Agilent TapeStation Logs

Answer

This Information Applies To: 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation instruments, TapeStation analysis software, TapeStation controller software

Issue:

Technical support require the instrument log files to troubleshoot hardware issues with the Agilent 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation systems. It is possible to export the logs via the TapeStation controller or analysis software.

Steps to follow

 Tip
Tip: Log files do not include data files, experimental, or sample information. Collect and compile this information in addition.

Tip  Tip: If possible, in the controller software select the cog icon in the top-right > System Diagnostics > Run Tests and execute the System Verification. Generating the log files after running the system verification will provide Agilent remote support with the latest information.

In the TapeStation analysis software, the logs can be exported by selecting File > Help > Export Log Files (Figure 1). File explorer will open and you can select the location that a .zip file containing the logs named TapeStation Logs (date and time) will be saved to. This method is the simplest way to export the logs and works for the 4200, 4150 and 2200 TapeStation models.

4200 and 4150 TapeStation Instruments

When controlling a 4200 or 4150 TapeStation instrument with software version 3.2 or newer, the logs can be exported from the controller software. Click the cog in the top-right corner of the software and select System Diagnostics > Run Tests > Export Log Files. The System Diagnostics context will open. Click Export Log Files (Figure 2). File explorer will open and you can select the location that a .zip file containing the logs will be saved to.
