How to Access Spectroscopy Database Administrator Software (SDA)

Issue

The SDA application can only be accessed by a Windows user who is a member of the Windows Administrators group and Windows SDAAdministrators group.

Steps to Follow

  1. Open the Local Users and Groups
    1. In the Windows search box, type lusrmgr.msc and click the lusrmgr.msc application. (Figure 1).

  2. Add your Windows user to the Administrators group. In the following example, the Windows user cse is added to the Administrators group.
    1. In the Local Users and Groups window, click the Groups folder to show all groups (Figure 2; Item 1).
    2. Double-click the Administrators group (Figure 2; Item 2).
    3. In the Administrators Properties window, click Add... (Figure 2; Item 3).
    4. In the Select Users window, type in the Windows user name (Figure 2; Item 4).
    5. Click the Check Names button (Figure 2; Item 5).

    6. In the Select Users window, confirm that the Windows user name is now listed (Figure 3; Item 1) and click OK (Figure 3; Item 2).

    7. In the Administrators Properties window, click the Apply button (Figure 4; Item 1) then click OK (Figure 4; Item 2).

  4. On the desktop, double click the SDAdministrator icon to open SDA (Figure 8).
