This Information Applies To: Agilent AriaMx systems.
Issue
When IP addresses of an AriaMx instrument are reassigned, it will appear under the new and the previous IP address in the AriaMx Instrument Explorer. This situation can be prevented using a static IP address.
Tips: See the Aria Setup and user guide manual, Section 2 Step 7, for instructions on how to properly connect the instrument to a network or directly to a PC. It is recommended to connect it directly to a PC.
IP addresses of the form 169.254.x.y are signs of a poor network connection. They should be resolved with your IT administrator to ensure your network configuration is set up properly. |
Background
Instrument IP addresses can be reassigned when the network configuration is not stable or is interrupted.
Resolution
To remove a duplicate or superfluous instrument from the Instrument Explorer, right click the desired instrument > select Remove from the list. (Figure 1)
Note: If there are duplicate names of inactive instruments (in red), it doesn't matter which instrument is removed.
