This Information Applies To: Agilent 7820A GC
Issue
7820A GC is designed with simplified keypad that comes with five buttons. They are Stop, Prep Run, Start, Up and Down arrow buttons. Changing the IP address requires a different method compared to instruments with Keypad or touch screen.
Resolution
It may be necessary to check the current IP address before setting up new IP address for the 7820A GC.
There are two ways to set up IP address for 7820A GC:
Check current IP address
Press the Down arrow button several times on the 7820A keypad (see Figure 2) until the IP address is displayed.
Knowing the current IP address will allow users to set up a connection to the 7820A virtual keypad using this IP address and change it if necessary.
