Software Status Indicators 5000 Series ICP-OES

Answer

This Information Applies To:  Agilent 5000 Series ICP-OES (5100/5110/5800/5900)

Issue

The ICP Expert software can help to identify system problems by assessing the status of the instrument components.

 Tip
Tip: Hardware LED status indicators are discussed in the article

Resolution

There are two LED displays that indicate instrument status:

  1. The AVS switching valve indicator light on the bottom right of the main software window shows:
    1. Green: the valve is in the inject position
    2. Yellow: the valve is in the uptake position
    3. Grey: the valve position is unknown.

  2. Status window list accessed through the instrument panel of the ICP Expert software. On the ICP Expert main page, select Instrument menu.

The list of status LED color indicates are displayed on the left side of the window. A green LED indicates that the instrument component is ready for use and Table 1 lists the possible causes when the LED is grey, yellow or red.
