Issue

It is best practice to note MassHunter Software Settings before running the Glitch Resetter, renaming MassHunter configuration settings files, or before upgrading/reloading MassHunter software.


 

  
Caution: Maintaining software settings is the responsibility of the user. This guide does not show every possible MassHunter software settings window, and there is no way for Agilent to know what settings a user had previously.

 

Steps to Follow

This guide will cover how to capture the following software settings:

  1. Communication
  2. MassHunter Options
  3. Lens Parameters for Semi Auto Tune
  4. Sample Introduction
  5. Plasma Ignition Mode
  6. Ignition Sequence
  7. User Tune (if applicable)
  8. Startup Tasks

Steps to Follow

  1. Communication (Figure 1)
    1. Under the Task Navigator, click Dashboard.
    2. Click the Mainframe icon and from the contextual menu, click Communication.
    3. Capture the instrument IP address and Host Name.
    4. Click Cancel.

  2. MassHunter Options (Figure 2)
    1. Click the Tools tab, then click the Settings icon.
    2. On the left pane, click Options, then click the arrow on the left of Select the Options.
    3. Capture the System Functions, Data Handling, and Reporting tabs.
    4. Click Close.

  3. Lens Parameters for Semi Auto Tune (Figure 3)
    1. Click the Tools tab, then click the Settings icon.
    2. On the left pane, click Tune, then click the Edit button.
    3. Capture the selected parameters.
    4. Click Cancel.

  4. Sample Introduction (Figure 4)
    1. Click the Tools tab, then click the Settings icon.
    2. Click the arrow on the left of Hardware.
    3. On the left pane, click Sample Introduction.
    4. Capture the Sample Introduction Properties page.
    5. On the right of the Autosampler section, click the Edit button.
    6. Capture the settings of each tab of the Configure Autosampler dialog box.
    7. Click Cancel.

  5. Plasma Ignition Mode (Figure 5)
    1. Click the Tools tab, then click the Settings icon.
    2. Click the arrow on the left of Hardware.
    3. On the left pane, click Plasma.
    4. Capture the Plasma Ignition Mode setting.
    5. Click Close.

  6. Ignition Sequence (Figure 6)
    1. From the Home tab, click the Configuration to highlight it blue (if not highlighted already).
    2. From the Task Navigator, click Startup Configuration.
    3. Click Configure Ignition Sequence.
    4. Capture the ignition sequence settings.
    5. Click Cancel.

  7. User Tune - only applicable if using User tune for Startup. or Global Tune. If you do not use User Tune, continue to step 8.
    1. Check if you use User Tune (Figure 7). If User Tune is selected for Configure Ignition Sequence (from Step 6), or if the Set as Global Tune icon on the Home tab is highlighted blue, you use User Tune.

    2. From the Task Navigator, click User Tune Configuration
    3. Capture the User Tune settings (Figure 8).

  8. Startup Tasks
    1.  From the Task Navigator, click Startup Configuration.
    2. Capture the Hardware Settings startup table and the Set peri-pump Table.
      • If Select Custom Settings is disabled, click the Set Peripump/Isis button under Standard Settings and capture the table (Figure 9).

      • If Select Custom Settings is enabled (the button is light blue), click Set on the Torch Axis line and capture the table (Figure 10). These settings will need to be inputted for each line when reconfiguring.

  9. After running the Glitch Resetter, renaming configuration settings files or upgrading/reloading the software, enter the settings captured in steps 1 to 8.
