Requesting Tune Control on your GC/MSD System Using OpenLab CDS

Answer

This Information Applies To: Agilent Single Quadrupole GC/MS systems controlled by OpenLab CDS.

Issue

The OpenLab CDS user needs to request tune control before any tuning or vacuum control of the GC/MSD can be performed.

Steps to Follow

Tips: This procedure can be run from any of the Tune or Maintenance windows when the MS is in the idle or vented state and not under tune control.

  1. In the Home tab, Click Method > Tune > Autotune.
  2. Click Request Tune Control (see Figure 1). The icon changes to Release Tune Control and the instrument status changes from green to orange to indicate that the instrument is in the tuning state. The tune file associated with the currently loaded method is displayed.
