BAC Method Missing from the Agilent Femto Pulse Software

Created by Geoff Pettitt Geoff Pettitt over 1 year ago | Last modified by Shweta.S Shweta.S 10 months ago

This Information Applies To: Agilent Femto Pulse, Agilent Femto Pulse controller software 1.0, ProSize analysis software 3.0, Agilent Genomic 55 kb BAC kit (p/n FP-1003-0275)

Issue:

In Agilent Femto Pulse controller software version 1.0, it is not possible to select the FP-1003-22 55 kb BAC method from the Separation Set up dialog box. This situation occurs due to the BAC method and configuration files not being included in the Femto Pulse controller version 1.0 and ProSize 3.0 software installers.

Steps to follow:

Download the latest Femto Pulse controller and ProSize software here.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to upgrade to the latest software versions it is possible to download the 55 BAC method and configuration files.

Download the method file here and the configuration file here.

  1. Copy the method file (.mthds) into the folder C:\AATI\Methods\22cm.
  2. Copy the configuration file (.ini) into the Configurations folder within your ProSize 3.0 directory, e.g. C:\ProSize 3.0\Configurations\FP.

Once the 55 Kb BAC.mthds and .ini file are copied into the correct folders, and the software is restarted, the BAC method will be available in the software.

To run the BAC method, click Add to queue in the Experimental Run Controls. The method can be run for the selected group or the entire tray (see Figure 1).

Clicking Add to queue opens the Separation Set up dialog box. In the Method drop-down list, select FP-1003-22 - 55 Kb BAC.mthds (see Figure 2).
