Dear team,
I'm running 8890 GC-FID using back injector and front Detector FID. When, we uploaded sequence table, there's message appearing that sequence table rear injection isn't detected. Can anyone help to advise what to do with that?
Thanks…
Hi Lance.
Setting the FID to 5 Hz fixed the peak noise issue. I did notice however that when lowering the makeup flow on the FID < 5 ml/min (set it at 3 ml/min) there was loss of sensitivity in the FID. I set it back to 25 ml/min and the sensitivity…
I have the flex metal G3188-27501 ferrules. when it comes to the Inlet, the ferrules fit alright and I can tighten them onto the column. When it comes to the FID port, the ferrule is too long and I can't screw in the column to the outlet. If I really…
Hi.
I have GC 8890 with FID detector.
When I turn on the GC, I get this error. I changed the igniter and the cable that is connected from the igniter to the board.
How can I check what is causing this error and how to fix it? There is a suspicion…
We don't know what is in your water samples, but on a CP-Wax 57 CB benzene and isopropanol are eluting very close to ethanol, just in front of it.
You can find examples of applications of alcoholic beverages on Wax 57 (all types) in Scanview ( (+) Software…
Recently, we connected the column (CP7429) to TCD and FID using a Y splitter. However, there is no signal response on both TCD and FID after manually injection of the calibration gas (containing H2, CO, CH4, C2H4, C2H6 in CO2). The carrier gas is Ar.…
I'm using the GC6890 with one single column (CP7429). The gas products have to be analyzed by TCD and FID simutaneously. How should I connect the column to TCD and FID? Is it necessary to have a s plitter to split effluent from a single column to TCD…
Hi alprovornii , thansk you for your question and sorry for the delay
Set H2 flow to the catalyst at about 40 mL/min. If H2 is used as carrier, 20 mL/min N2 or He make-up should be provided through the normal FID H2 make-up line.
Thanks
Regards
Hi Carmen,
Visually check your column in signs of contamination of stationary phase. It looks like your column was too old. In that case you could just reverse the column direction, and put for for long term conditioning at room temperature, then condition…
