How to Stop Automatic Printing Reports After Sample Analysis in MSD Productivity ChemStation

Issue

A setup method for MSD Productivity ChemStation E.XX.XX and F.XX.XX users who want to stop printing results automatically after sample analysis.

Steps to Follow

MSD ChemStation is set to automatically print the analysis results by default, so if you want to disable it, set it according to the following instructions:

1. Load the analytical method, then from the main menu, click Method > Edit Entire Method... (see Figure 1).

2. In the Edit Method dialog box, select the Data Analysis check box, and clear the other check boxes, then click OK (see Figure 2).

3. From the Select Reports dialog box, select only the check boxes corresponding to the reports you want to print. If you do not want to generate any reports, clear all the check boxes. Click OK (see Figure 3).

4. In the report options dialog box, clear the Printer check box. If you want to display the results on the screen, select the Screen check box. Click OK (see Figure 4).

5. From the Save Method As dialog box, save the method file (See Figure 5).

   Caution: Do not overwrite the Default.M method file.
