This Information Applies To: Agilent 5100/5110 ICP-OES
Issue
The instrument requires clean, dry, noncorrosive air for cooling purposes. The air enters the instrument through an air supply vent located beside the chimney on the top of the instrument. The vent is fitted with a dust filter to screen out particulate matter from the surrounding environment. This filter should be cleaned regularly to prevent reduced air flow.
Steps to follow
Tips: This article applies to the standard air filter and does not include the Dusty Environment Filter accessory.
|
Caution: Always turn off your instrument before attempting to replace a filter to prevent dust and contaminants entering the instrument.
|
Pull up the air filter handle to remove the air filter.
Vacuum the filter to remove any build-up of dust and debris.
If the filter has an oily build-up, wash the filter in a mild detergent and allow it to dry.
Replace the filter if it is damaged or blocked. Agilent part number G8000-68002.
To install the filter, fit the rounded cut-out over the tab on the air filter housing and then press down while you slide it into place. Purge the instrument for 60 minutes after installing the air filter.
Before using the instrument:
If the external exhaust was turned off, turn on.
Turn on the instrument and gas supply.
Purge the instrument for at least 60 minutes.
Recommended maintenance: Agilent recommends cleaning the air filter monthly.
