Issue
How to power off the Agilent ICP-MS Foreline Pump to perform maintenance, or when fully powering off the Agilent ICP-MS System.
Background
The ICP-MS MassHunter Software controls the pump’s ON/OFF control, which will transition the ICP-MS System from standby mode to shutdown mode.
If software communication is not possible, it is possible to shift from standby to shutdown mode by pressing the vacuum ON/OFF switch on the ICP-MS. The switch is located under the ICP-MS large cover.
Steps to Follow
3a. For ICP-MS MassHunter 4.6 and below: Click the drop-down arrow next to the Hardware button and select Vacuum Off (Figure 1)

3b. For MassHunter 5.1 and above: Click the Dashboard tab on the left, then click on the Mainframe image. Select Vacuum from the menu (Figure 2)

3c. Using the switch located under the ICP-MS large cover
Warning: When the plasma is lit, do not open the top covers. Confirm that the ICP-MS is in standby mode before continuing.
