This Information Applies To: Agilent Spectroscopy Systems, SPS 4 Autosampler
Issue: When the Agilent SPS 4 autosampler powers up, it performs an initialization routine, which moves the probe arm to predefined positions on all its axes (X, Y, and Theta (rotational). See Figure 1. If the probe arm fails to travel the required distance along any of the axes, LEDs will light to indicate an error. The autosampler cannot be used in an error state.

Discussion:
The initialization sequence is as follows (in this order):
Steps to Follow: If the autosampler fails to complete the initialization.
Warning: The probe arm moves quickly. Keep the probe path clear during operation.
