Exporting the Performance Report for ICP-MS MassHunter

Issue

Reviewing the latest Performance Report, and Performance Report History is a useful tool for troubleshooting ICP-MS instrument performance issues. Historical sensitivity, background, precision, hardware settings, tune parameters, and meter readings can be reviewed to compare what has changed since the last “good” performance report.

Steps to Follow

The performance report can be exported as a *.PDF or as a *.xml file. If you are troubleshooting with Agilent Technical Support, you might be instructed to email either the *.xml or *.PDF file.

Tips: If the startup tasks will not complete due to low sensitivity, or other error, run performance report from the startup menu and use the results to assist in troubleshooting the issue.

Export the PerformanceReport.xml File

1. Close any ICP-MS MassHunter software windows.
2. Copy the PerformanceReport.xml file
   1. Navigate to the following directory on the instrument computer using file explorer - C (or D):\Agilent\ICPMH\1\PerformanceReport (Figure 1; Item 1).
   2. Right click the PerformanceReport.xml file (Figure 1; Item 2) and from the contextual menu, click Copy (Figure 1; Item 3).
      

       

      Tips: If you see other files in this PerformanceReport folder (often with date and time stamps), they are archived performance report files and do not need to be exported. Only export the PerformanceReport.xml file.

3. Paste the PerformanceReport.xml to an email, USB or anywhere else you wish to export the PerformanceReport.xml file. 

Export to PDF for MassHunter 5.x

1. In ICP-MS Instrument Control Software, access the Performance Report page
   1. From the Task Navigator click the Dashboard tab  (Figure 2; Item 1).
   2. Click the Mainframe image (Figure 2; Item 2).
   3. From the contxtual menu, click Performance Report (Figure 2; Item 3).

2. Generate the Performance Report PDF
   1. Click the Generate button (Figure 3).

   2. Select the location to save the PDF, enter a file name, and click Save (Figure 4).

3. Use file explorer to navigate to the location where the PDF was saved in step 2b (Figure 5; Item 1), right click the file (Figure 5; Item 2) and from the select Copy (Figure 5; Item 3).

4. Paste the PDF to an email, USB, or anywhere else you wish to export the PDF.

Export to PDF for MassHunter 4.x

1. In ICP-MS Instrument Control Software, access the Performance Report page
   1. Click the Hardware gadget (Figure 6; Item 1)
   2. Click the Mainframe image (Figure 6; Item 2).
   3. From the contextual menu, click Performance Report (Figure 6; Item 3).

2. Generate the Performance Report PDF
