MSD ChemStation Blank Subtraction?

Is there a way to subtract a TIC or SIM "blank run" chromatogram from your sample's respective TIC or SIM chromatogram in MSD ChemStation? This functionality is in MassHunter and is pretty straightforward. I'm using F.01.00.1903 Enhanced version.

  • It is only possible to subtract a background spectrum from a TIC in MSD ChemStation (File > Subtract Background (BSB) ), not an entire blank run's chromatogram. If this is data being collected by a 2D GC detector (FID, ECD, etc...) then you can use the column compensation feature on the GC to do this, but this feature is not available with MS data.
