Less standard reading concentration

Hi dear 

I have a USP standard of a compound and i tested it with HPLC (uv : 260 nm) 

I read the concentration of API about 121% 

would you please guiding me why it was happened?

    ISH is correct, purging your system will remove any residual compound that may be stuck to the column or flow cell. After flushing, if you still observe very high values then it could be that your sample concentrations are not as indicated or that your method defines an injection volume that is different from reality. You can try weighing the vial before and after injection to verify if the autosampler is taking consistent aliquots.
