G4226A Autosampler - leaking needle assembly-loop capillary

Hey Mike, Agilent 1290 Infinity Autosampler User Manual see page 141. Have you used two wrenches to do the tightening (one securing the needle assembly and the other screwing on the sample loop)?  Also, ensure there is no damage to the fitting on the sample loop.

Good morning, I am using two wrenches.  Even pulling on both wrenches (in opposite directions) as tight as I can.  After that I need to reposition the needle assembly to get the needle back in alignment. 

I haven't yet checked the sample loop fitting.

The sample loop fitting does not seem to have damage.  I did try a second new needle assembly this morning and still had leakage.  I have exchanged needle assemblies before on both of our 1290 systems without problems.    

I am not trying to change the sample loop.  My difficulty there is that the Lab Advisor is not setup.  (That decision is above my pay grade)  Is there a way to exchange the sample loop without going through Lab Advisor?

How did you replace the needle without lab advisor?  You need it to replace the needle.   

I can use the Mass Hunter acquisition screen to put the sampling arm into maintenance position.  From there I can move the sampling arm into position to change the needle and needle seat.  However, the sampling arm is too close to the autosampler ceiling for me to easily handle or see the loop cap. 

We have the basic version of Lab Advisor installed.  The Instrument Control and Service & Diagnostics options are greyed out.

Make sure you get out of MassHunter and kill the engines before trying to do anything in Lab Advisor.  What version of LabAdvisor do you have?  You are able to update to the latest.  If that computer is on the internet, go to configuration and market and you will see the latest revision listed. Choose the download button.  If not the latest is on Agilent.com
