Agilent 1260 Infinity refractive index detector - does is us a lamp or LED? with which wavelength?

    The RI uses a lamp and since it's works on refractive index differences, it doesn't use a wavelength.  The RI is what is called a "bulk" detector.

    If you are thinking you can replace the lamp, it's part of the optical unit and when it fails [does last a very long time] the replace strategy is to replace the entire optical unit.  It requires alignment which can only be done in the factory.
