Hello parth_iitk,
There are some articles in the Agilent Knowledge Portal that may help you as reference to pump down/vent the instrument and to find the leak:
How To Pump Down (Start) the GC/MSD - EI - MassHunter
How To Vent (Shut Down) the GC/MSD - EI - MassHunter
Troubleshooting Agilent 5975 and 5977 GC/MS Air Leaks
One thing you should consider is that, during operation, the thumbscrew in the side plate does not need to be tightened. the plate should be in place thanks to the vacuum inside the instrument. If the screw is too tightened it may apply too much force over one section of the vacuum seal, which may lead some times to leaks.
