I have an Agilent headspace GC-MS (7697A/7890A/5975C). When I run samples on it, the computer often shows "run out of memory" message and the ChemStation software sometimes crashes. Does anyone have the same issue? Is there a solution?

I don't have a solution for you other than reboot often! I also have gotten t the dreaded low memory error with the 7890a I have been using. But, it does not seem to crash (often). Maybe try dusting out the pc you are using. Sometimes the fans / processors get full of dust and then....

I use Enhanced ChemStation E.02.02.1431 in Windows 7 Pro SP1. I have upgraded the PC RAM to 20GB but still encounter the same problem from time to time.
Thank you for your reply. The issue seems to be related to the headspace sampler, because I don't have this issue when I use liquid injection on the same instrument.
I will mark this as assumed answered due to its age, feel free to update us with what you found or post again if this is still an issue.
The ram you have installed should be sufficient if its Win 7 64 bit. Win 7 32 bit can only use approx 4 GB of ram at max. If this is still an issue, please call your local support as there is another solution that can be put in place on the PC.
