Trouble downloading driver from Red Cargo for G6691A Flow Meter

Some customers have problems downloading the .exe file from the Red Cargo website ( This driver enables them to connect their G6691A Flow Meter to a PC. Attached is the driver saved as a .txt file. Customers should be able to copy the file to their PC and then change the file back to the .exe extension to install the Red Cargo driver.

  • To clarify:

    1. Download the .zip file

    2. Unzip the Red Cargo Driver Setup file

    3. Replace the unzipped .txt file extension with the .exe file extension


    You should now be able to install the Red Cargo driver.

  • Hello, I was able to download and install the driver however I can't connect to red cargo.  It does not recognize the flow meter (G6991A).  I am also confused as to how to determine if the cartridge has a temperature indicator that is black.  There isn't a temp indicator on the cartridge itself.

    The temperature indicator is inside the lid on the box that contains the cartridge. See the attached Quick Start guide for examples.



    I am sorry to hear that you are still having trouble connecting the flow meter to your PC. Are you seeing the USB image in the upper right corner of the screen at all? This should appear regardless of having Red Cargo open or not. If not, I suspect something is wrong with the electronics in the flow meter. I'd recommend you contact Technical Support for further guidance. If you do see the USB image, can you send screen shots of what you're seeing when the meter won't connect?



  • Hello, I need a consultation. After loading the Red Cargo drivers, the flowmeter was connected to the PC and was in the "Available for run" state.

    I clicked on the “Upgrade” button after this operation “Download files from server”, “Transfer files to device”, “Upgrade firmware” and “Reboot device” were successful.

    The meter display went out during reboot. After that, the flowmeter did not turn on. And now also does not turn on. Please help in this situation.

    Please hold the power button for 30 seconds. It takes that long for the meter to restart after upgrading firmware.
