ICP MS 7900 Error 1218.

Is this sudden happen, or after a maintenance or some other hardware of software setting change?

There are many reasons possible for this plasma shutoff error. The ICPMS MassHunter Help software give you several possibilities. Please check the below help list first. most likely there is a air leak- or wrong rf matching causing this error. This is because the plasma is lit and shut off when the nebulizer flow comes in and the latest tune values are implemented. however please check the whole list.

Hi, I am experiencing this problem right now. May I know, what is the solution presented by service engineer?

Two reasons were identified.

1.The RF matching between method and device setting was different.
2.There is a sensor behind the torch box and there was a particle that disturbed the sensor.

The technician cleaned the sensor and then it worked.
