Filtering Sample Type Using Enumeration in Reporting with OpenLab CDS

Issue

This article outlines step-by-step instruction to filter sample type using Enumeration in Reporting.

Prerequisites

• The privilege Data Processing > Print results reports is required. This privilege is configured in the Control Panel.
• Sample type must be defined in either Sequence Table in Acquisition (Figure 1) or Injection List in Data Analysis (Figure 2).

Steps to Follow

1. Load Data.
2. On the left pane, go to the Reporting navigation view (Figure 3).
3. Select the sequence under an Injection tree (Figure 3).
4. In the Home ribbon tab, click the Editor layout (Figure 3).
5. In the Home ribbon tab, click both Report Editor and Report Preview windows (Figure 3).
6. In the Report Templates section, double click a report template to load it. In this example, SequenceSummary_Short_Letter.rdl is used (Figure 3).

7. Under the Report Preview window, scroll down to the Sample Statistics section, SysSuitTest (System Suitability), QC (Control), and Batch001 (Samples) are all reported in this table (Figure 4).

8. Under the Report Editor window, scroll down to the Sample Statistics section. Carefully select the inner table and then right click it. In the contextual menu, click Properties (Figure 5).
9. Go to Filtering (Figure 5). For more details, see the following OpenLab Help and Learning article on filtering.

10. Under the Expression column, click the drop-down menu and select Sample_Type (Figure 6).
11. Under the Operation column, select the equal "=" sign (Figure 6).
12. Under the Value column, click the drop-down menu and double click <Expression…> to open the Expression Editor, type 3 for Sample (Figure 6).

13. Repeat step 9, 10, and 11. Under the Value column, click the drop-down menu and double click <Expression…> to open the Expression Editor, type 4 for Control. 14. Click OK to close the Properties window (Figure 7).

15. Click Refresh Preview to see the table with only QC (Control) and Batch001 (Samples). SysSuitTest (System Suitability) is not reported in this table (Figure 8).
