Error to initialize sequence when using Partial sequence

Do you see this error message when trying to run a partial sequence with every sequence template, or does it only occur when using one or a few sequence templates? 

When you setup the partial sequence are you choosing to collect the data into an already existing result set or are you creating a new result set?

The error message doesn't pop up for every sequence run.  Right now, I created a new method and a new sequence with a new subdirectory folder.  I go to partial sequence, click new and get the error message.  The way to work around that is to go to sequence table and click run, after which point I can run partial sequence.  Any idea why I can't run it in the beginning?

As you referenced in your initial description, there was a defect that was fixed in the C.01.08 where you would see this error when your Sequence Parameters were set to save the partial sequence's result set in a location other than the default data path. 

Can you check in Sequence>Sequence Parameters and see what you have specified in the Path and Subdirectory fields. If they are set to something other than the default data path, try switching back to the default path and saving the sequence to see if you still get the error.

No, it's set to the default path, I haven't made any changes to it.

C:\Users\Public\Documents\ChemStation\1\Data\

Could it have something to do with subdirectory?  I create a new subdirectory everyday with that day's date, ie 20200109 for today, 20200108 for yesterday, and so on.

Try not specifying a subdirectory to see if you get the same error. 

Also, I recommend that you run the Software Verification Tool and see if the resulting reports identify any missing/corrupt files for your installation. If not, then it might be worth a try to install C.01.08 Update02. Though I am not seeing any of the fixes included in the update relating specifically to partial sequencing, there are a number of fixes related to the sequence engine which might be related. You should be able to download the update from your subscribenet account. 

If I leave the subdirectory blank, then that does solve the problem.  Any idea why that should be happening?

Edit: Ran software verification tool, no problems found.

Have you tried installing C.01.08 Update02 yet? If not, then that would be a good place to start to see if that resolves the problem. 

How many characters are there in the UNC path where your data is being stored (with the subdirectory specified)? Windows has a 260 character file path limit (including the name of the file), so I wonder if that might be coming into play. 

We got a license for c01.10 chemstation and that version is working properly when it comes to partial sequence.
