Can telnet to 8453, ChemStation says Power Fail 8453

We have an Agilent 8453 UV/vis spectrometer that until yesterday afternoon was working. The instrument goes through its normal startup routine successfully, gets an IP address from the BOOTP server and I can communicate with the LAN card (G1369A) via telnet, however when ChemStation (version A10.01) loads it gives the error Power Fail 8453. We have tried alternate LAN card configurations and double-checked the configuration on the computer but so far nothing has worked. Any advice would be helpful.

  • If you are using the G1369A card you will not need the BootP server.   Assuming ChemStation is loaded ont he supported computer operating system, Windows XP, it's likely that the connection is isolated. (i.e. A crossover cable is connected directly to the G1369A card and the computer.)  Please see the attached document for details on setting up the default G1369A address.
