Auto tune fail due to mass 118amu missing

Hi

6420 QQQ  auto tune was failed.It was due to 118amu missing.

We were changing ESL L tuning mix,result was the same.We clean ion source & capilary cap,the result was the same.

The calibrant flow & spray was OK.

What will be the probable cause & solution for this problem?

  • Hi Yitna,

    I looked at your attachment. You have poor overall response. If Spray is ok and replaced calibrant and source was cleaned I suspect ion capillary or deeper cleaning is required.  When was the last time ion capillary was cleaned or replaced.

    The source & capillary  was cleaned before a week.

     

     

     

    Now I did another cleaning for both. But there is no improvement 118amu response in profile is very low.

     

     

     

    By the way what value supposed to be the capillary current during running condition of ms (when 3848V applied to capillary) ?

     

    I ask this because is this value gives an indication to that capillary replace or not ?  or it is only an indication to ion flow?
