DAD detector turns off for some runs

Hi!

I just wonder if it is possible to turn off a DAD detector for some runs, in order to elongate the DAD lamp lifetime?

We are using an Infinity 1260 on Chemstation and we don't need to turn on DAD to acquire data for runs like wash runs.

I would like to get some advice on how to make this happen.

Thank you!

Best regards,

  • Hi

Put the samples in a separate sequence to the wash runs.  In the sequence parameters for the samples, select the post sequence option to switch off the lamps.  Run the sample sequence and queue up the wash sequence from the Run control menu.  Your wash sequence can also then put the system to standby when it has completed.  Remember to uncheck the "lamps on required for analysis" option in your wash methods.

Don't forget, lamp lifetime is also affected by the number of ignitions.  Turning the lamp on and off multiple times per day will shorten its lifetime too.
