This procedure is valid for 1100 and 1200 Agilent LC Autosamplers with a standalone degasser module.
When using an Isocratic pump or a Binary pump without a Solvent Selection Valve (SSV), you can utilize more than one degasser chamber to achieve higher degassing performance and help the degasser work optimally.
This is accomplished with the C-Tube Kit (part number G1379-68706) to link two degassing chambers together. For example, chambers A+B can be connected and C+D can be connected.
This will add some volume when changing solvents, but will not lead to any delay volume in gradient runs since the gradient starts at the pump.
Some methods benefit more than others, such as running Methanol+Water in lower wavelength areas where extra degassing helps (see Document "Micro Degasser Based Baseline Wander on UV-Detector Signals for very Sensitive Measurements in the Low UV-Wavelength Range".)
