1290 Infinity II Bioflexible Pump - Pressure Spike during Mainpass to Bypass

During an injection when the valve switches to bypass position to draw the sample, a pressure spike occurs which exceeds the method pressure limit of 90 bars and triggers high pressure error.

This only happens when I am using a 20 µm Protein A column which has a pressure limit of 20 bars. The system itself without the column has a pressure of 70 bars at 1 mL/min. Do these operating conditions necessitate use of a restriction capillary? Is there any other way to remedy this issue?

Mobile Phase A: 20 mM sodium phosphate, pH: 7.5

Mobile Phase B: 20 mM sodium phosphate, pH: 2.5

Flow Rate: 1 mL/min
