Rubies in HPLC

just as curious as you. Where do you find the 'rubies' ? 

I doubt whether the rubies are found.  They're almost certainly synthetic industrial materials, just like the sapphire used for HPLC pump pistons!

The ruby is used in the inlet and outlet valves and are used mostly for their inertness.
