Shutdown UV Lamp During Column Washing Run

Hi.

Is there any way to shut down the UV lamp (to save the lifetime) during the column washing run in OpenLab CDS automatically? The washing run is after the sample sequence run.

The washing run can take up to a few hours.

If submitting a shutdown method, all modules will be turned off but the washing cannot be done as the shutdown method is always the last sequence in the queue.

Any advice?

Hello, no, unfortunately, you cannot switch the lamp off inside a sequence. It either has to be a result of a shutdown method or switched off when the instrument is idle for a specified amount of time (Lab-wide setting: Control Panel - Administration - Instrument Options).

You should always consider that after re-igniting the lamp, it typically requires 60-90 minutes establishing a stable detector signal.

Based on this it does not always make sense and saves lifetime shutting off the lamp.
