Agilent Infinity 1260 autosampler: Valve to Bypass Failed EE 4014

Hello, I've been using an infinity 1260 autosampler and sporadically during injection I get the error: "Sampler G1329B:DEAAC21082 - Valve to bypass failed [EE 4014, 0]. This causes the system to disconnect and terminate the run. I can restart the entire system, but then it occurs after approximately 4 autoinjections. Does anybody have any idea what is going on or has had something similar happen?

Hi, this could be due to an obstruction in the injection valve, either some particles are stuck or the rotor is worn out. You might try to clean it. If the rotor is worn out you might need to replace the rotor seal. In the User Manual https://www.agilent.com/cs/library/usermanuals/public/G1329-90015_ALS-B_USR_EN.pdf you can find the step-by-step guide for the rotor replacement. Important to keep in mind to tighten the stator screws "gradually", meaning a few turns per screw at a time and switching to the next screw. This helps to avoid tilting of the stator and part misalignment. If the rotor exchange does not help, I would recommend calling your local Agilent Tech Support as the whole valve might require replacement.

Removing and sonicating the stator face and rotor seal managed to get rid of this problem! Thank you so much!
