Any solution what this error might be.

I'm inclined towards the sample tray not being too stable in it's position

Hey,

Yes, could be true that the tray was not properly inserted.

There are a few more possibilities shown here on page 207: Agilent InfinityLab LC Series Vialsamplers User Manual

Hey,
