FLD: emission encounter index calculation failed (init-phase)

That error usually means that the EM grating motor has failed and will need to be replaced.  You should call Agilent support for an onsite call.

As for how can you continue working without the FLD.  I assume you have other detector(s) on this system and if accurate, you will need to turn off the FLD, disconnect the LAN cable and remove from the system configuration.

Thank you for your answer. We will communicate with the Agilent support team here in Israel. Would you explain how to remove the FLD from the system configuration to continue working with the other detectors? Are there some videos or manuals? 

Simply disconnect the CAN cables from the FLD and remove the module from the configuration on the CDS.

Each Agilent LC module has two CAN ports at the rear. CAN cables are used to connect to the next module in the stack. This is how the modules communicate with each other. Turn off the stack and on the FLD remove the CAN cable that comes from the previous module (UV detector, I reckon). In addition, the FLD needs to be removed from the configuration in your CDS (Chromatography Data System), so, in your case, Empower. However, I don't know or use Empower, so you'll need to ask a colleague or call Waters support.

In case the FLD was used as an access point (the module which has a LAN connection to the PC), this needs to be changed to another module, preferably another detector.
