Hit Vial Bottom Error

Are these Agilent vials? Does the needle hit the center of the vial? Maybe try replacing the needle, the needle z tolerance may be off

Hi there, we are encountering the very same problem as mentioned above (G7167A). We are using genuine agilent vials (5188-2788) and caps (5183-4500). Do you have more information on what is causing this error message? Where can we set the "needle z tolerance"? The error occurs no matter the bottom sensing is enabled or not.

which firmware are you currently using in your G7167A? There were some improvements on FW D.07.38 to make the Z-axis behave more robustly and avoid such errors.

Hi eixeirad, before we were on D.07.37, now we updated to D.07.39. This should be the newest firmaware. Hopefully, there won't be any error in the future then.

yes, D.07.39 is the newest at the moment. But bear in mind that this "needle hit vial bottom" can have several causes, including bent needle, overtightened crimp caps, among other things. If the error reoccurs, I would advise you to collect Diagnostic Buffers using Lab Advisor right away, before even restarting the instrument; and contact Agilent for further investigation.
