Hit Vial Bottom Error

Hi,

We keep seeing a 'hit vial bottom' error on one of our G7167A Multisamplers. The issue is, it isn't hitting the bottom of the vial, but 'bouncing' off the top of the septum. We have done a full realignment, which seems to temporarily fix the problem, but it then comes back. Firmware is up to date. It doesn't happen every run which is making it difficult to diagnose and fix. Has anyone else seen this and if so how did you fix it?

  • Hi there, we are encountering the very same problem as mentioned above (G7167A). We are using genuine agilent vials (5188-2788) and caps (5183-4500). Do you have more information on what is causing this error message? Where can we set the "needle z tolerance"? The error occurs no matter the bottom sensing is enabled or not.
