  • To sum up the case and provide some troubleshooting options:

    Root cause:

    • For proper vial handling, all three fingers should be oriented concentrically.
    • In rare cases, one of the fingers might get out of position. It can especially happen when the finger gets hindered by a physical obstacle, forcing the gear on which the finger is seated to slip on the toothed belt.

    Troubleshooting:

    • Run the Gripper Verification Lab Advisor tool to verify the problem.
    • Remove the gripper using the Maintenance Positions in Lab Advisor and observe whether all three fingers are concentric.
    • If one of the fingers appears out of position (see photos above), try to force it back with your fingers.
    • If the gripper can not be recovered, replace the component (G1313-60010).
    • Rerun the Gripper Verification to verify the proper functioning of the gripper arm.
    • If the problem persists or the arm appears out of alignment, request an on-site repair from Agilent.
