Peak is growing at 42.10 and creating autotune problems

I asked the right person -- 42 is N3.... so either your helium tank is filled with nitrogen or at least contaminated with a ton of nitrogen, or the nitrogen and helium lines are reversed somehow.  Nitrogen is not a valid carrier gas with GC/MS at least partially because of this.  It reduces the sensitivity by more than twenty fold...

Thanks Paul something must have happened with the supplier, I swapped to another separate canister from a different supplier and it seems that the other two canisters were mislabeled. The peak is gone and here is the most current tune report.

Great.  The 219 and 502 are quite high. Make sure that the extractor lens insulator is clean, the extractor pin isn't touching the body, the brown extractor lens connector wire is connected well and not crimped, and that the transferline tip seal ceramic is clean.  This is not a big problem but 219 is more typically less than 140% or so of 69.

The tune ion peak shapes are good.   I won't soon forget m/z 42...
