Hello, I have the HP 6890 series GC connected to 5973 inert selective mass detector. Can i use this system to detect the mass of pure small molecules (range of 150-500 kDa)?

Hi MSeleem welcome to the Community!
I moved your question to the GC/MS Forum for better visibility.
Cheers,

150-500 kDa would be 150,000 - 500,000 amu. The 5973 has a scan range of 10-800 amu.
I meant non volatile pure small molecules
It would help if you could list out some of the types of compounds you would be interested in analyzing. If you search them by name on http://www.agilent.com you will probably find application notes listed that may help you understand which type of instrument works best for each chemical.
A GC/MS is amazing at separating and identifying molecules from 10-800 amu that can be vaporized in a hot injection port and separated in a GC column.
