4513A injector, syringe carriage error code 201

After a used G4513A sampler is installed on a new 8860 GC-5977C instrument, the injector couldn't finish injection process in sample run and it will do the routine but in the step of the injection the needle will stuck a little above the port and gave an error code 201 in the end, syringe carriage error. Sample was not injected. The fault light flash twice indicating X-axis problem, however align function cannot achieve and stuck. Any one has idea what is going on here and how to solve it? Thank you very much.

Hi zhenfazhang,

Switch of software, GC and MS , disconnect the ALS and the tray from the GC, connect everything again, switch on the instruments and the pc and check if it works. If the problem persists it seems there is problem with the movement of the syringe, you can replace the syringe carriage assembly.

G4513-90010.pdf (agilent.com) Page 182 and 227 Troubleshooting is on page 246. Fault light flashing twice on the injector is syringe error, see page 257.

Make sure that the syringe is not installed and try it again.
