MS 5973 Firmware upgrade

Hii,

I'm looking for some help or suggestion to unlock my 5973 MS.

In the process of updating the FW from 5.01.62 to 5.02.07, required by MSD Chemstation E.02.01, I received a request for USER and PASS that did not stop the procedure, but eventually, the upgrade failed and the MS is now locked at the 'Loading MS Firmware' step. Below the transcript of the upgrade session.

Does anyone know how to provide these user/pass? are these target/password?

Thanks for any contribution.

  • You may see the “USER and PASS required” messages during update. These are benign, you will see them before and sometimes during a FW update it is OK.

The firmware update log is at:  c:\gcms\firmware\5977\installd.txt -- that might not be right for your very old system, though.E.02.01 was superceded by E.02.02 in April 2011.

Isolate the computer, GC, and MS from your network.  Either turn off the firewall and anti-virus or:

There is the potential risks to damage the Smartcard if the firewall or any a virus program interrupts the update process.  This may require an Agilent FSE to resolve.

  • SOLVED.

Installed Chemstation E.02.02 and the firmware was regularly updated to 5.02.14.
The USER and PASS required remained, but the procedure was completed successfully

    Thank to anyone that contributed

    Paolo
