6890N Cool On Column Injector Keeps Getting Stuck

We a have 6890N with cool on column inlet, and the autosampler keeps getting stuck in the inlet/septum while injecting sample. We have tried replacing the injector with known good ones, and it still happens. We changed the septum, septum nut, spring, and insert. It might run one or 2 samples, then gets stuck again. It stops while it's injecting then just stays in the septum. The front side is a split/splitless inlet, and this doesn't happen on the front. Could it be a board issue? I believe the injectors plug into the main board of the GC, correct? Has anyone seen this? We have another 6980N with the same inlet type and this doesn't happen.

Thanks,

  • Hello  ,

For Cool on Column inlets, the septum and the inserts types are dependent on the column size. It is quite possible that either the septum, the insert, or both, are not matching the column size.

Are the needles getting bent too? Does the needle go in all the way, or just partially?

    Please provide the following information:

    - What is the column size you are using?

    - Photos for the septum nut and the insert you are currently using.

    - Photo of the autosampler needle support foot (The dark grey piece supporting the needle of the ALS).
