7890A FID Column baking? conditioning? Method

Hello.
Use GC7890A, FID.
I want to bake it again because the column is contaminated.

I have a question.

1. Do I have to separate the column from the detector?
2. Do I need to connect the column to the detector?

※ If you need to disconnect the detector, why?

- I used a translator because I'm Korean. Please excuse me.

  • no you don't need to disconnect it from the FID, ,

bake the column for enough time usually more than 1 hour according to your column status , you can keep the FID working to monitor the baseline .

    ..

keep temperature 25 degrees less than the maximum column temperature .

Finally try to update your GC method after you bake your column , make sure that you have enough post run time and temperature to avoid column contamination
