H2 carrier gas for 8890 with Ni catalyst and FID

Question

Hi everyone. 
 We have a 8890 Agilent GC with nickel catalyst and FID detector. We would like to use hydrogen as carrier gas, but we don&rsquo;t know the right flow rates, because the manual is indicating flow rates only for using helium as carrier gas. 
 For H2 carrier gas we will use the flow of 20ml/min, so please precise the optimal gas flow rates for Ni Catalyst->FID hydrogen and FID air in this case?

Hi alprovornii , thansk you for your question and sorry for the delay 
 Set H2 flow to the catalyst at about 40 mL/min. If H2 is used as carrier, 20 mL/min N2 or He make-up should be provided through the normal FID H2 make-up line.
