Column temperature of 8890 GC remains at 70 degrees C

I have configured my laptop to our 8890 GC with a split/splitless inlet and FID. I am currently just doing manual injection. When sending the method from my laptop to the instrument, all of the parameters reach the setpoints except for my column temperature. The column temperature remains at 70 degrees C no matter what temperature I set the oven too in my method. I have to press Prep Run on the touch screen before the column changes to the set temperature. Is this only happening because of manual injection and not having an ALS? If so, is there a way to get the column temperature to remain at my initial temperature of my method?

  • is it not updating when you change it in your software? If so, what if you change it on the GC itself? Does that work?

What if you create a new method from def_gc, can you change that temperature without issue?

Not sure if it is intended with manual injection, if it is, then auto prep run would put your gc back to prep run automatically right after it is done with the current injection.
